Branding and Digital Marketing for a Michelin Star Restaurant in Washington DC

CHALLENGE.

Rania, formerly known as Punjab Grill, is an award-winning, one Michelin Star restaurant in Washington, DC offering evolutionary Indian cuisine. Following the height of the global pandemic, the restaurant was relaunched under a new name, Rania, which translates to “Queen” in Hindi and Sanskrit, along with a new Executive Chef, Chetan Shetty. The new restaurant was challenged with getting the name out into DC’s competitive restaurant market and hired TriVision to help in rebranding and digital marketing services.

SOLUTION.

TriVision’s first challenge was to create a new brand and visual identity for Rania. With the goal of branding Rania as an evolutionary fine dining restaurant with a “daring new vision that shatters stereotypes of what an Indian restaurant is and can be,” our creative team got to work and created a logo design that was modern yet elegant and captured the restaurant’s classy and luxurious brand. Aside from creating their new logo design, we also designed their marketing collateral, including high-end boutique business cards, web banners, and printed banners.
Our next challenge was to promote the new restaurant online and bring in more customers. We began an aggressive digital marketing and advertising campaign that included Facebook/Instagram advertising, Google ads, Yelps ads, OpenTable management, social media support, and email marketing. As part of our campaign, we worked closely with the client each week to report our progress and adjust our advertising efforts accordingly. Our efforts helped generate high traffic and buzz for their restaurant, especially during Washington DC Restaurant Week. TriVision also provided photography and videography services to capture Rania’s unique and delicious cuisine, as well as its luxurious interior design.
Additionally, we worked with influencers and content creators in the DC food market to further promote their business online. Our social media efforts not only brought new customers but increased Rania’s social media engagement and followers significantly.

RESULT.

Rania is now considered one of DC’s most coveted destinations for modern and contemporary Indian cuisine after winning multiple awards, including earning one Michelin Star, the prestigious recognition awarded to restaurants that use top quality ingredients and where dishes with distinct flavors are prepared to a consistently high standard. Earlier in 2023, the restaurant was also one of the top finalists for New Restaurant of the Year by RAMMY Awards and won OpenTable Diner’s Choice Award.
