Celebrating the Tech Leaders of Northern Virginia; Carlyle Group Co-Founder Accepts Pinnacle Award

Northern VA Digital Media Company Attends TechCelebration

On Monday, October 19th, our team at TriVision enjoyed an evening with some of Northern Virginia’s most influential and innovative technology executives at TechCelebration, an annual awards banquet hosted by Northern Virginia Technology Council (NVTC).

Regarded as NVTC’s biggest event of the year, the evening is always exciting, attended by some of the most high profile companies in the country. A few top executives who were present at the dinner reception included Teresa Carlson, Vice President of Amazon Web Services as well as Marilyn Crouther, Vice President of HP who received the award for Executive of the Year.

The featured guest of the night who received the honorary Pinnacle Award was David Rubenstein, a philanthropist and co-Founder and co-CEO of The Carlyle Group, as well as chairman of The Kennedy Center. Rubenstein was awarded the Pinnacle Award for his commitment in improving the quality of life and business in our community.

Rubenstein used his acceptance speech as a vehicle to encourage technology executives to give back to the community, and thanked NVTC for their efforts to make Northern Virginia a tech leader in the U.S., right alongside Silicon Valley. He went further by asking the audience to not forget about the arts and literature as these subjects are also an essential component of our learning and future.

The event, which was held at the Ritz Carlton of Tysons Corner, also included the presentation of other 2015 Tech Awards including the Chairman’s award to CIT (Center for Innovative Technology) president and CEO, Pete Jobse. Jobse is responsible for transforming CIT into a company that is dedicated to acceleration research commercialization, innovation, and startup company formation in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
