Logo Design – DC Branding for the 2016 Campaign
Hillary Clinton‘s logo for her presidential campaign was panned when it first came out. All over the internet people maligned the design, saying it looked like it was made in under a minute on Microsoft Paint. Design experts trashed it, then proposed their own iterations. Those designers included TriVision‘s own creative director, Arsalan Lutfi. Arsalan not only lives and breathes design, but he loves to work from TriVision Washington DC studio and works with government organizations on a regular basis. When it comes to politics, it’s hard for a TriVisioneer not to have a stake.
Sol Sender, who designed Obama’s 2008 logo, told the Huffington Post, “If you boil it down it’s really a symbol of forward motion…Hillary always seems to get dragged into the past by her critics. Therefore, you might argue that a symbol like this, which is so aggressively pushing forward, could help counterbalance any negative energy that is directed at her past.”
In the subsequent months, the logo has been a surprising symbol of adaptation; For Iowa, the background changed to an open field with corn in the foreground. For New Hampshire, it shows the mountains.
