Website Design for American Disposal, Northern Virginia’s Market Leader in Waste Management

As one of the largest privately-owned waste management companies in the Mid-Atlantic, American Disposal Services (ADS) has over 400,000 customers, 750 employees and 300+ truck fleet across Greater Washington, Georgia and Colorado.

Last year, the company was seeking to launch a more engaging, modern, and robust website to service their residential, commercial and roll-off clientele. The objective was to create a website that aligned with ADS’s branding while also keeping their customers’ user experience seamless.

One main challenge was making sure the website was able to serve each local audience and perform advanced search functions given their three different locations across the country.

TriVision was able to build the new American Disposal website from scratch, including its frontend interface design and layout, as well as backend development and integration. Given the amount of content that had to be reorganized and restructured, as well as the backend integration, we had our work cut out for us.

User Interface, Layout and Content Development

To begin, our team sat down with the client and went through identifying the end users and goal paths for the website based on their objectives. We also consulted with them on the content architecture and site navigation of the site.

Developing a mood board with unlimited color variation to ensure the site had a unique and creative new look and feel was another step in our design approach. Our design team developed custom infographic and iconography, as well as layout of home page banners based on geographic locations.

In addition, our team provided website copywriting services and helped with repurposing content from their print materials for the website.

Why Website Design and User Experience Gives Your Brand Credibility

To ensure their website contained rich and engaging content, our film and photography crew visited their site to capture their staff and trucks in action and produced an overview video (click below to watch) with animation and motion graphics which was used for their website and social media.

Throughout an extensive collaboration between the client and TriVision that consisted of many one-on-one sessions, on the phone and in-person, we were able to build a fully dynamic and responsive website with 45+ unique, custom-designed CMS-based pages, plus about 65 standard theme pages (110 total).

Special coding had to be implemented to ensure customers were able to search for service areas by zip code. In addition, we made sure their brand was integrated with the Pay My Bill portal where customers were able to login and manage their accounts. We also customized their backend dashboard, as well as set up the latest security patch updates for the entire website.

The new American Disposal Services website is elaborate yet modern, clean, and user-friendly. Users can navigate through the site and find content they are looking for without feeling disconnected from the brand or location.
