Founded in 2009 and headquartered in Richmond, Virginia, Elephant Insurance is a subsidiary of Admiral Group plc, one of the U.K.’s leading insurers with a presence in eight countries and over 5 million customers worldwide. In the United States, Elephant provides auto insurance to customers across six states online and over the phone.
Being a customer-centric direct insurer, Elephant Insurance recently launched a new policy that rewards safe drivers with discounted pricing. To help launch this marketing campaign, they hired TriVision to produce a series of video commercials that was smart, memorable and appealed to their target audience.
Pre-Production
Both our creative marketing and production teams had several brainstorming sessions to come up with concepts for two 30 second commercials and two 15 second commercials. The focus of the core message was what would best amplify Elephant Insurance’s core values and advertise the new “safe driver” policy to its audience?
Based on the proposed concepts that were approved by the client, our team wrote a script which involved several variations. The client’s final decision was a father and son scene sitting in a car, as well as a similar version with a mother and son.
Once the scripts were finalized, our team set out to plan the logistics, location scouting, and casting.
Production
Due to an unexpected snow forecast on the day of production, our team of about 10 production crew worked together to shovel and clear the set. Since the crew and the cast had an early call time, thankfully we were able to start the production on time. Throughout the day, our director of photography made sure to capture as many quality shots as possible to be used in post-production later.
Post-production
Once the video was shot, our video editing team worked diligently on the deliverables while consistently communicating with the client to make sure we efficiently completed the project. We were able to deliver all the commercials the client requested within the expected time frame, scope and budget.
The TV commercials are currently airing in multiple states throughout the country. We look forward to working with Elephant Insurance again on future marketing and advertising campaigns.
