On Wednesday, January 29, 2014, Human Rights First hosted an “Evening with Esperanza Spalding” at the Lincoln Theatre in Washington, DC.

Grammy Award winner Esperanza Spalding performed a variety of songs from all four of her studio albums before returning to the stage to a panel discussion about the prisoners currently held at the Guantanamo Bay Naval Base led by Van Jones of CNN’s “Crossfire.”

As part of an ongoing campaign to take a stand for justice, Spalding underlined the issues surrounding Guantanamo Bay and urges the closure of the Guantanamo Bay Detention Center, an issue Spalding has worked on in the past.

TriVision had the honor to stream and broadcast the entire event live as the panel featured representatives from Human Rights Watch, Amnesty International and the ACLU.

This was definitely an unforgettable night!
