DC Tech Day

We stopped by DC TechDay last Thursday held at the National Building Museum to check out the startups exhibiting at the day-long event. And I must say, my colleague Dhyana and I were very impressed and had an awesome time. DC TechDay brought together a range of investors, developers, and startup companies in all stages of development. As part of the day’s festivities, “Techie” trophies were given out in a bunch of categories to deserving tech startups.

More than 150 tables were set up for startups to show off their creations, ranging from on-demand delivery of all kinds of goods and services, education technology, customized fitness apps, online dating, big data analysis, and more! And then there was Snaapiq. Snaapiq works just like Instagram but even cooler. Your pictures turn into a game with fun & simple photo contests, where people can win prizes with the most ‘likes!’

The sponsors and exhibitors ranged from more established tech players, such as General Assembly, WeddingWire and 1776, to a host of months-old start-ups with products still under development.
