Branding and Website Design for a Technology Firm in Northern Virginia

Ranked third among the nation’s “Top Tech Cities”, the Washington DC Metro Region headquarters some of the largest technology firms in the U.S. Some even call Washington the “Silicon Valley of the East.” The same report by Cushmen and Wakefield also named Washington DC Metro as one of the top 10 regions where technology plays a critical role in its market economy.

That being said, TriVision gets a lot of opportunities to work with technology firms in the area, ranging from small to large companies. In addition, we have been the creative marketing and video production partner of the Northern Virginia Technology Council (NVTC) since 2014.

Not long ago, after seeing some of TriVision’s work for NVTC’s two signature events, the Capital Cyber Security Summit and Capital Data Summit, a local pioneer in cyber security technology, Blue Ridge Networks, approached us to help them with their creative marketing needs. The company has protected critical operations for some of the largest US government, financial, healthcare, and other critical infrastructure customers for more than twenty years with no reported breaches.

With Washington DC’s technology landscape becoming more crowded, the firm really needed help to enhance its brand and visibility.

The Branding Process

Blue Ridge Networks’ first request was a brand refresh. This process started with consultation and assessment of their existing brand and ways to improve it. Our team came up with more than six different logo options, which were presented to their leadership against various marketing collateral.

After several revisions and collaborations, the final logo was decided. The new Blue Ridge Networks brand is modern, clean and creates a unified look and feel across its marketing platforms.

Aside from logo design, our branding services also included a brand style guide, design of their business cards, marketing collateral, email signature and a corporate PowerPoint template. In addition, TriVision has provided creative design for their trade show booths, social media banners and icons, and web banners.

Easy-to-Navigate, Responsive Website

Another major area of need for Blue Ridge Networks was a clean, modern website that was user-friendly, responsive and consistent with their new branding and product offerings.

During the initial research and discovery phase, TriVision discovered that Blue Ridge Networks, despite being a pioneer in the cyber security industry for more than 20 years, lacked brand awareness in the tech community.

With the new website, the firm aimed to clarify their brand promise and showcase their product offerings. More than anything, Blue Ridge Networks needed a website that created a positive user experience for its audience by enabling easy navigation and the ability to find relevant content seamlessly.

TriVision was able to build a website for Blue Ridge Networks with great consideration for both User Interface (UI) and User Experience (UI), two commonly used terms in website design and website development.

The new 40-page CMS website has dynamic / responsive page structure that is mobile-friendly and helps improve user experience (UI) by laying out all the important information in a way that users no longer have to plough through multiple pages to find information they are looking for. It also helps communicate Blue Ridge Networks’ mission and products more clearly to their potential customers, thus increasing brand awareness and ultimately sales.

TriVision continues to collaborate with Blue Ridge Networks as their marketing partner, providing ongoing design and creative support.
